Italian Night Dinner

Habitat for Humanity of Fond du Lac County recently held its 5th Annual Italian Night Dinner Fundraiser which raised more than $11,000 in funding

The event was held September 11, 2008, at the Holiday Inn in Fond du Lac. Entertainment was provided by Joe Scheibinger and Janice Marie. The successful night included fine Italian dining, raffles with a live and silent auction. Terry Tomkowiak and Dr. Will Sybesma were named as the Volunteers of the Year for their involvement on the board, committees and many hours of volunteer time. The winner of the Annual Children’s Playhouse raffle was drawn; Mary Miller of Mt. Calvary is the lucky winner. The monies raised from the dinner and raffles will be used to complete the building of homes in 2008 and the future projects in 2009.

Habitat for Humanity thanks the local businesses who have been key to the planning and sponsoring of this event, including: Agnesian Healthcare, Associated Bank, Fox Valley Savings Bank, JF Ahern, Mercury Marine, Ideal Chiropractic of FDL, Heaven on Earth Healing Touch, Marine Credit Union, Set in Ink and Wesley Heating and Cooling.

“We sincerely appreciate the support of our sponsors, attendees and volunteers in making this event come to life. Without the support of our generous community, we would not be able to continue with our Mission of providing safe and affordable housing to those in need,” said Executive Director Kathy Strong-Twohig.

Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit organization that empowers low-income families by partnering with them to build affordable housing. Habitat doesn’t give the houses away, but rather sells them to families in need through no-profit loans. The qualified families also contribute hundreds of sweat equity hours in the building of their home alongside hundreds of community volunteers who so generously give of their time and talents.
