Meet the Lee Family

  The Lee Family

Our family is originally from Laos, where we lived in the forest and on the mountain during the Vietnam War. Our family huts were built by our own hands and equipment. Aftermath at Vietnam War our family moved into the city at Phonsavanh, Xieng KHouang Laos.
In February 14, 2004 we were sponsored by Herr Tzong-Pao and Herr Shoua to come to the United States by refugee, for the first time. When we moved to FDL, we moved into a home from the city housing authority.   We had low income housing and my mother and I working in minimum wage jobs.
Our family is very fortunate to have heard about Habitat for Humanity. To be picked for this year’s “2011” house is indescribable happiness to us. Thank You! We are very grateful to Habitat for
giving our family of five this opportunity, not only for a brand new house, but also the opportunity to learn what we need to do to be successful homeowners.   We are grateful for the volunteers we have met so far. We are learning much about homeownership duties and have started on our sweat equity hours already. We are now looking forward to the actual house building as weather permits.
